First a little about our team.
The director, Juha Rosma, has directed several feature films and
TV-series. At the moment he works as the head of the drama-section of the national broadcasting company of Finland.
The director of photography, Esa Vuorinen, is by many considered the best in Finland.

My name is Ville Virtanen. I am an actor, a director and a writer.
Before I went to theater school I was a rider. I rode in Finnish national team in show jumping at early eighties. At that time I rode couple of years in sales stables. 6-10 horses per day and national level shows at weekends. I jumped light international from 130 to 150, but never Grand Prix.

We shall shoot the film on 35mm, for the big screen to theatres. It will be a documentary film whit following drama structure:
In the beginning I shall tell to the audience who I am, that I am 42
years old and it has been 20 years since I rode professional. And now I am going to start over and jump Grand Prix in tree years.
I shall begin whit a two months period of dressage whit Kyra Kyrklund.

During that time we shall make a portrait about Kyra, and I shall learn the dressage way of riding a horse to balance.
After that I would want to come to your stables in Belgium an be trained by you. I would want to make a portrait of a Brasilian master. To show your sense of riding and your skills of reading a horse with using the means of filmmaking, so that even the big audience, people who have never sat on a horse, would realise how does it feel to sit on a grand prix horse and jump a big fence. I would want to compare your way of communicate with a horse with Kyras, and experience how much of your skills can be translated in me.

After two months of training I would start to look for the perfect horse. This part, of course would be filmed also. When we find the right one, we shall concentrate in character of that particular horse (I have never seen a film which shows a character of a horse they are always just horses) and us together getting ready for the GP. This period will last about 2,5 years, in the film I would estimate it to be about one third.

It will be a film about a dream. It will be a film about top sports, but most of all it will be a film about horsemanship, communication between a man and a horse. When finding the right rhythm, tempo and sensitivity it becomes one of the finest arts, there an animal and a man realises harmony together.
I know that the task will be tough. Since I stopped I have sat on a horse every year for a while. I think I still got the feeling and the eye. The rest is work.
